Dave @ Yank talked me out of the TCI after discussing some of the problems it has. I am keeping the stocker for now.

Good idea - I had my TCI for 1 day before I decided to sell it off - never installed it due to the same reasons.

ok, What were the problems people were having and is there any other alternative? I'd hate to put another stocker in for obvious reasons.

Yeah I decided to keep the stocker as well as I had heard the same thing. I inspected it very thoroughly and it looked really good. No problems yet ...

Care to share some of these non specific "probems" that the TCI flexplate is supposed to have? You sure it isn't Yank that has the problem?

The TCI and my Vig 3800 multi-plate bolted right up without any "problems".
We used good quality bolts and used RED Loctite on them to proper torque specs. Maybe you can honor us with the secret info "Dave @ Yank" has about probems with TCI flexplates.

Soo...the only problem with the flexplate is that it doesn't play well with a Yank converter? I have one in the garage and plan on installing it this winter. Don't have a Yank so I guess it will be fine?

I had that same problem with my TCi/vigilante 3800 combination, so i dont think the problem is isolated to Yank only. Got the problem fixed & used red locktite second time around. No problems so far

I have ripped the center out of 4 stockers and 1 aftermarket flexplate. I have a 1989 formula 350. The flexplate is the least of my worries.. LOL check out that kaboom !!!!

Mine came apart on my 01. Replaced it with a TCI and have had no more problems. You'll need to mill the stock converter bolt heads down a little with the tci flexplate or they will hit the block. I'm not saying every car is like that, but mine was and I've talked to a couple other people that had the same problem.

I recently put in my TCI flexplate with Yank PT4400. No issues at all.

I want to hear this as well. I've run a Yank and a Vig with the TCI flex plate. Both were fine.

You should install the TCI SFI while you in there. Just extra insurance/peace of mind.

Just invest $400 on one of these and never look back.

I was told the same thing, "get rid of the TCI flexplate and get the stocker" but why would I get rid of a $200.00 SFI approved flexplate for stock one?

Get the trailblazer flexplate. It is stronger than the stock f-body one and cheaper than the TCI. It is part # 12602448. My stock one is fine, but has 60,000 miles on it and didn't want to take the chance.
