Line Lock Install problems
Ok......well, I bought the Thunder Racing Hurst Line Lock kit......installation kit, prebent lines, and the solenoid. I've got everything hooked up except where it says to cut the pink wire running to the ignition fuse....there are two running to it. One next to a thick red wire and one next to a thin black wire. Which one do I cut and hook into the new relay/fuse setup from Thunder Racing??
There's also another pink wire running to the starter fuse.....do I use that one??
and one other question...do I have to take my rims off to reach the bleaders on each caliper?? b/c as it sits.....I have no brakes <img src="gr_sad.gif" border="0">

When I hooked my Line Lok up I found an independent 12v source so I can't help you there but I think I took my wheels off because I remember it was very time consuming to get the brakes properly bled again

That cutting of the pink wire is just asking for trouble in my opinion, that is if you even have enough slack to to that anyway, mind did not. It may be urban legend, I have yet to find anyone that actually did it that way. The auxilary power supply is right there with a big red cap on it, 12 volts all the time, run a wire to that. I like to keep my line lock engaged when I have the front on ramps working on it. 12 volts constant power lets me turn leave the ignition off. Just install an inline fuse.

That solenoid isn`t going to last long, if I remmember right the directions recommend only leave on for less than a minute.

Yeah I'll let everybody know how long it lasts, I've used it 3 or 4 hours at a time at least a dozen times since the install. No problems, but it is rebuildable of course. To me it's worth the extra margin of safety when the rear tires are off the ground too.

Just get one of those clamps so you can slice the wire onto the pink wire without any cutting. And you can use either one of them. The fuse is just an intermediate device and there's no polarity on the wires. It's basically the same wire on both sides of the fuse.

Re: Line Lock Install problems
Re bleeding the brakes, I installed the lines leaving the fitting going into the ABS module about a full turn shy of finger tight. Then I pumped the brakes to get the air out of the new lines. I then tightened the fitting, and to my surprise the brakes did not need any more bleeding. They were as firm as before and have been that way for 6+ months now.
