Default Guys w/ tranny coolers please chime in.

I have decided that I want to get a tranny cooler but have no idea what is needed. I tried a search but its not working for me right now. Here are my questions can someone help me out.

1. Is there a specific cooler that works best on the a4 f-bods? If so which one.

2. Where should it be mounted?

3. What can I expect to pay for the install?

Thx

I just did mine last Wednesday but was in a hurry and didn't get any pics. The way I mounted mine is as follows:

1. Locate the metal line that attaches to the passenger side of the radiator just below the overfill line behind the radiator cap.
2. Get under the car and locate where this line ties into a metal line just under the rack and pinion. This line will be rubber where it ties into the line under the car but changes to metal at the top of the radiator.
3. You will take your fitting and part of your rubber hose that comes with the kit and run it from the top of the radiator with fitting in place and hose connected to the top connection on the cooler. The cooler will be mounted on the passenger side of the AC condenser just in front of the radiator.
4. Run the rest of the hose from the bottom cooler connector to the hard line under the car.

When complete you will have then run the cooler in line where the factory half-metal, half-rubber line used to be.

FYI, You will have a few cuts, if not be bleeding, when you put the zip ties through the cooler and AC condenser because of the radiator fins cutting at your hands.

B&M part number 70264. It is a 24,000 Gross Vehicle Weight cooler. I ran it on my TCI 4000 converter with no problems.

It comes with zip ties that have big flat plates on the end of the tie. You slide the rod end of the tie through the fins and into the separate flat plate you will be holding on the back side. After it is tight, you will have the zip tie holding the two together with the flat plate on the back side of the condenser and one on the front of the cooler.

That's how i put mine in. Just watch the clamps if you don't
flare the hard lines. The clamps will want to slide off with out
flaring.

i herd that if you dont put it in the right series then the tranny will burn up is that true and if so whats the correct way?
tranny-rad.-cooler-tranny or
tranny-cooler-rad.-tranny?

I've got mine mounted "Dope" style.

Ignore the small stain running down the chin spoiler, it has been there since I got the car. I don't have any idea what it is.
