2-3 shift problem
I am having problems with the 2-3 shift not shifting in WOT. I had servo's installed and it helped a but sometimes it will shift and other times it will bang the rev limiter a couple times then shift. I was wondering if a shift kit would help this problem.

i think your trannys starting to give out bro because mine is doing the exact same thing. my mechanic said it could be the bands or clutches were wearing out so i am going to order a rock-on tranny soon the stock trans sux really bad and it cannot handle much more than stock power.

I am having the same problem with my transmission. Do you have to totally rebuild the tranny if this is happening or can you but the parts to just fix that problem?? Sorry if this is a stupid problem but my transmission knowledge is very limited.

One thing that can be a source of variability in trans
shift behavior, is the fluid temp. The stock force motor
table really jacks the current around with temperature.
You'd like to think GM was trying to keep a constant
delivered line pressure vs load profile, but this is not
how it seems to me (I used to have much worse slip
when hot, than cold). So if you don't have a cooler,
get a big one on there real soon.
Another "interesting" thing I bumped uyp against the
last couple of days, is that low fluid really makes for
some changes in how it shifts (like 2 -seconds-) and
how strong the clutch holds. I got my car back from
the mechanic, had all kinds of misbehavior that I
thought the new converter was responsible for
somehow, spent hours trying to tune back the shifts
and last night said "I better go back to basics",
started with the dipstick, and nothing there. Took
3 quarts to get it up to the top line. Motherf*cker!
Put a hundred miles on it like that, hope all the slip
events haven't hurt the clutch packs....

i think that it really is a tunning problem, mine is fixed now, i did not tune it, but it shifts fine now and does not bang off the limiter at all, i heard it may have something to do with torqe management??

not true always, i do have a shift kit and mine continues to have the issue. tried to fix my tunning issue, still am having problems, so i am looking into a performance rebuild to fix the problem

I had a similar problem last month. I tore it down and found clutch material in the #3 acumulator piston. It seems like my old stall came apart and sent junk in the trans and was sticking the accumulator. I cleaned it out real good, installed some new 3-4 clutch packs(they werent worn out too bad) I just wanted to add an extra pack to tighten up 3rd gear.
I just overhauled the trans in Sept. after it took a dump on me. So this was the second time Ive been in it in the past couple months.
