Has any one gained MPH with fuddle?
Not to start some massive flame war/fight over convertor brands and what not....
I was going to buy a TCI 4000 convertor...and then fuddles started getting popular...most people using TCIs were reducing ETs by .5 or so...AND picking up some mph...
It seems like every before/after fuddle install post I read...they loose some ET but the mph drops by a few...Im just curious of the peoples setups are not right or if the stalls are very inefficent.

i will be able to tell you in a couple more months. i got my stall at the end of last year and only ran once post-season. how efficient is the stall converter? i will provide my experience in the 1/8 mile:
same mods i have now before stall: 8.73 @ 83
after stall: 8.18 @ 80
this is with the stock tune and torque management was REALLY killing my mph. you could literally watch the car lay down between 1-2 because of it. bear in mind i have the transgo full race/high stall shift kit, it was really giving tqm a workout. i lost .55 only in the 1/8 mile with 3 LESS miles per hour.
the only constant i've had to compare is my gf's 99 t/a - stock. it consistently trapped just a hair under 105 in the 1/4, i barely trapped 103. she would obviously pull me from a roll. after the stall and removal of tqm we are even from a 60 punch.
conclusion: the stall did in fact improve my trap speed, the track will tell the story as to how much. figure this man: i lost .55 with tqm eating me alive, just in the 1/8, what would i have lost if i had it tuned prior to?

Im just curious because I run 12.2-3 at 112 with bolts on and stock stall......Its def stong from a 98 with a LS1 intake....Don't want to do something that might cost me MPH.

I went from a 12.9 @ 108.23 to a 12.4 @ 107.56 and I know there is more to be had from it. But I found out this weekend that its *my converter anyway* not for the dyno #'s. I have a Hp/Street 3600rpm 2.1 str by the way.

Then i suggest you spend time to match the right stall size to the cam, not just go for the biggest converter you can find. There is no such thing as one-size-fits-all with converters.

Using my buddies Vericom unit:
Before new 3800/2.4 fuddle install: 14.21 @ 103.5
After install: 14.04 @ 104.1
I also had a run of 14.13@104.7. On every run I had a lower time and a higher MPH than my runs that were done before installing the Fuddle converter.
I couldn't get any traction to save my life tonight. Any launches I did power braking resulted in horrible 60 foot times due to taking forever to get any kind of traction. My best run was accomplished just mashing the petal. I blame my crappy continental tires. I need something better!

I'm not sure what G-Tech is. http://www.vericomcomputers.com/ My buddies model isn't listed anymore but it lets you do all sorts of cool things. I only used it for the quarter though.

14.04 Was your emergency brake released? I just got thru talking to fuddle today and as sone as the tax money comes back I'm going to order the 3400 str 2.1 myself. These people inpressed me with their no nonsense attitude that they don't build them till you want one cause they don't build Part A and keep it on Shelf B they build what you ask forand the warranty is way better that anyone else i have talked to

Keep in mind that when people say they lost mph or gained mph they might not be factoring in the same track conditions, especially the density altitude (DA).

I hope to be about 113 the next time i go to the track (gaining 1mph from the converter and .5mph from the pulley)

Looking at results, I see no confirmable evidence that Yank is outrunning Fuddle in any way. Yank seems to say it a lot. But the results we see don't back them up. I dropped ET, gained MPH, AND paid a hell of a lot less. And I am not the only one.
