Default Need help with cooling lines... ALLEN BOLTS WTF!

I am in the process of swapping TCs... I'm following the modern muscle guide..

Everything is going fine, however i'm having a problem with the cooling lines..

MM guide says that you gotta remove some E clips on the top of the tranny..

My cooling lines doesn't go over the tranny.. and i cant find something e shapped.. so.. since i always rush and tend to **** up things, this time i just took a pic and came here for help..

Do i have to remove the lines from the tranny itself?, how do they come off?
The obvious thing is to remove the (npt's?) of the tranny but i dont have any open wrenches... gotta buy some tomorrow if this is the case... (anyone knows the size needed?)

Attached pic..

thanks for any info...

the clips are right at the tip of the pressure fitting that goes into the trans, where your line go into the trans there is a ring on the very top of the nut, the e clip is right there soon as you get clips off the lines pull right out, you can see them in your pic hope that helps........ the clips can be a pain depending on which way they are faceing

Sounds like you pretty much got it figured out. The use of a sharp pick to get the clips out works best. If you can get on the end of the clip it will work best. If this not an option, use a 18mm wrench and simply unscrew them from he case. Hope this helps..

I had a problem with mine getting them out, i can't remember the size , i think they were metric but like i was saying i had stripped one and i couldn't get it out to save my life i tried everything......Well worse case i took a 4" grinder with a thin cutting blade and cut the foot off the stock converter, as close as the flywheel without touching it, but i had to put a 7" wheel on a 4" grinder in order to reach the rest (like an 1/8")....... well thats my horror story but i wouldn't recomend it for a number of reason unless its the last straw

Did you end up figuring everything out, how did it all turn out? Any advice you would give to someone else? How bout more pictures of the parts of the flywheel that had to be grinded? Thanks, hope everything worked out.

Yup, a little pick bent at a 90* angle was my best friend that day They also work good for taking off wire clips. I still need to go buy one for my tool box.
