Default FINALLY: 3200 fuddle review!

well i finally got it in and LOVE it..best 350 ive ever spent..
ok at idle you can hear a lil more clunking than stock but nothing abnormal...
driving normal..in 1st the rpms are at 2200 then in 2nd and 3rd about 2400-2450 from a low roll or dig.. the bfgs hold well just a lil tire spin but then they hook and 80mph comes up really quick..ive never owned something this fast so im kinda like a kid in a candy store..i was shaking!.. now the famous 40mph punch...its gone completely! just jumps to 4000 and you watch the mph move!...ill have some races and some track times later i have to find out about this clunkin i hear in the rearend when i go from 1st and i have to install my cooler and gauge.. also i bought a tci deep pan and im taking it back off..my car has some DMS springs and the pan is about 3" from the ground... if anyone has any questions just let me know and ill answer as well as i can... and yes this is a 3200 2.2str cheepo fuddle converter..its normaly 400 but got it on sell for 350.!

Good to hear you are enjoying your Fuddle. Mine is just sitting in the closet waiting to be installed when nicer weather comes around. Did you tune it or put a shift kit in?

^^probably just dumb luck or his trans was already tired when he put the convertor in.

The fuddle really clunks around a bit at idle? I've never heard of that with a street convertor.

What gears do you have?
What tuning have you done for the converter?

My Fuddle 3000 2.0 is on my bookshelf waiting for me to get some money to have it installed. I can't wait even more now.

^^ Is the 150 mile break in period standard? I've been told anywhere from 50 to 200. I should get my car back tomorrow and I want to make sure its broken in properly.

Yeah, just go through a tank of gas driving it around normally. Keep checking the fluid levels, then you should be good to go.

i didn't do any kind of break-in period. i rolled out on the highway and laid like 80' of rubber, really before the car or tranny had warmed up

i have over 5k HARD HARD miles on my 'verter and it performs as well now as it did when it was new. i have no knocks or ticks or anything at idle, it idles as it did when it was stock.

i have the same converter you do, only 4k stall and 2.4 str...

yeah congrats! make sure you get that cooler in though, the tranny will heat up fast with a stall in there... No break in is necessary, just get in it and flash it and hold on

that's not necessarily true, unless you're referring to 120+ mph. if a converter is efficient, it will perform as well, or better than, the stock one "up top".

before converter: 8.73 @ 82
after converter: 8.18 @ 80

i feel the loss of mph was due to tqm, as i installed a harsh shift kit, too. i could feel the car lay down between shifts, the nose could be seen dropping from the stands, as my buddy pointed out for me. those times were done on the stock tune.

since then i have removed tqm and added an ls6 intake. i am now pulling cars that trap 84 in the 1/8 (at least from a roll on the street..).

and yes, it is a handful on the street. with my bfg DRs, down to 12 psi in them, + an extra 400 lbs in the back, that sob will STILL lay down 25' of rubber. totally annihilating the tires through first and part of 2nd...after a healthy burnout. so street racing is no longer any fun.

i managed a 1.70 short time on my 8.18 run (14#s air in the DRs). the run prior to that i had 12#s in the tires (was my first time to the track with the converter and i wanted to make sure i hooked) and i had a 1.74 short time. i gained 4 hundredths just by adding 2#s of air. i know i can launch with more air, but i only had 3 runs that day. awesome converter. i launched from 2800 on both runs.

i am looking for 12.5 1/4 with ~106 with stock exhaust/heads/cam at the beginning of this year. raceweight of 3,700. i am going to work on that, as well.
