Maybe 2500?

Stalling it up like that is not good for ETs.

Launching off idle or stalling up to a little over a thousand and letting it flash works the best for me.

Well that is not why I wanted to know. We have been stalling it up to about 1500 before we take off, but just haven't been pulling the best 60' and 1/4 mile times, just want to make sure it is a 3200 I guess.

What are your 60' times with the 3200?

I am having the same issues as well.

Clint/Lynda

Talk to Aric Potter about the way that he launches his car. If I am not mistakes he was letting the converter flash from idle but he got his best 60' from stalling the converter as hi as he could get it. Practice, practice, practice.

Good Luck

I've tried to see how high I could do that, i took it all the way to 3200 without moving so, then I just stopped. I launch at about 1400 on drag radials.

i was foot stalling mine to right above idle, and then letting it flash. best 60fts on e.t. streets was a 1.71 n/a. i guess with a stock suspension and no headers i don't have enough power to pull a good enough 60ft. although i always wondered if i possibly got a 2800 instead. any way to check in a '98 what the stall is?

No matter what tire I used, I always got the best result when I launched from a 1000-1100 idle, & hammered it when the lights said go. I have experimented with different idles, every time I switched tires. Maybe with a wider tire, & a drag tire, you could idle it up higher, but with the stock rear, I didn't want to chance it.

Black Sunshine/ 00SS – to what RPM can you brake stall your converter with street tires?

How high does your 3200 flash when you launch at the track?

Do you have any AutoTap logs of your runs, if so will you email a few to me so I can compare them to mine?

The guy I bought my Vig 3200 said to launch from a stand still or just a little over 1000 RPM's(maybe 1100). He said that Vigs flash the best when you flash em at a lower RPM and Yanks stall better when you flash em at a higher RPM. He's had both types of converters(VIG and Yank).

There's no way I could hook with this TC on Nitto's on our tracks(D/FW area). I couldn't hook consistently on them with the stock converter. The best 60' I've gotten was a 1.63(on ET Streets) at about 1500 rpms. But, I know my car was running very rich at the time, killing me. Mine seems to launch the same no matter where I stall it - 1000-1700...

Those Vig's are way underrated. I have a 3600 that stalls at about 4300 on the brakes.

I am guessing what you are seein is normal.

BTW, with BFG DR's and stock horsepower on 3.73's I can only manage 1.69's.

Later, Stu
