Default Calling all guys with a Pro-Torque Converter!!

Well my pro-torque 2900 stall is on its way to new york to be inspected by Joe with pro-torque seeing that is has now by messed up 3 times now!! the last two times it has thrown a bearing and the last time the converter lasted one day in my car before it totally shut down!!!! so Joe told me that he will inspect it and possibly upgrade me to their 10" converter!! anybody have one?? he said it would flash around 3300 or so.... but with the one i did have it would hold around 3100 on the slicks.... i am about to put heads/cam in the car and along with the NOS i am just wondering if this is a big enough stall.... What are your experiences with pro-torque?? Thanks

tell you what...tell them to buy that POS from you for all your trouble...then call Tom Izzo at Speed Inc. and pick up a Vigilante 3200 stall. Perfect for your bolt-on ride, H/C car, or all out stroker.

I'm totally with Ryan on this one. I told ya to get rid of it before you put it in the third time! It sounds like a complete POS. I would get my money back and go with something proven.
Moving to the drivetrain forum!

Well i would love to get my money back on it but i dont think there is anyway they will do that!!!! i have had the converter for over 2 years and it was initially rebuilt by an outside company of pro-torque!! but it is being examined and will hopefully find something out either today or tomorrow.... with the C1 "hammer" cam that i am putting in, what rpm will be my peak torque be at now?? it use to be about 3800.... Thanks! Trevor, you coming down this weekend?

You might get a more detailed response by posting this over on the big vette forum. The vette guys have used a lot more pro-torques than us.

It's pretty popular with them....but Pro-Torque just never caught on with the "F-body" crowd.

Tommy - I haven't seen a dyno graph of the C1 cam, but from looking at the specs I would expect peak torque somewhere around 4,400 RPM or so. The cam I'm going to install peaked right at 4,600 for TQ in another car. My 4,400 RPM stall ought to work really well with it.
Yes, I'm coming in this weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate! Are you gonna be out at Idalou Friday night?

i will try and be out there this friday... when does it start and end?? it is test-n-tune then the street races after that??? have you got the new converter in Trevor?? did you sell the old one you had?? I wonder how big of a converter pro-torque can build??i dont know if they have one that even goes to 4000.... basically they take a cadillac conveter and rework it to use in our f-bodies...
