So what fluid does everyone use?

Fixing to change mine and just wanted to see what everyone reccomends? And also just how much does it hold since its a 4L65E and Vig 3600 converter. Thanks in advance.

I only recommend dextron III. It's cheap and works just fine. As far how much it depends on if you have a deep pan and also how long you let the tc drain back. After doing the service dump 4-5 quarts in it. Fire it up and start checking the level. When you think it is full get in the car do a few reverse and drive apply cycles. Put it park and check it. If more is needed repeat the apply cycle and go from there. I would say a service is going to take 5-8 quarts. Also when replacing the filter there is a seal in the pump if your filter fits snug just leave the seal alone. Remember to put a little grease on the snout of the filter before installing. This will make it easier to install and prevent you from damaging the seal. Alot of people have a hard time with this and it really doesn't need to be changed. Good luck...
