Default Bypass radiator trans cooler ???

Who has bypassed the factory radiator trans cooler and just have it going through the aftermarket transcooler (B&M 24K). DId it help lower the trans temps, since summer is right around the corner i am thinking of doing this to lower my temps more. Anyone

I just now got done installing this cooler on my car:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

it is damn near as big as the condenser! it is 30,000GVW i am not for sure but this thing has to be in the top 5 of biggest you can make fit!

i slid it in to place from the top, and also hooked it inline with the stock cooler i did not bypass

i read this thread for more detail:

That's what I did. I had a custom radiator done w/o the internal tranny cooler and will only be running an aftermarket external cooler. Hopefully it'll help the car run cooler during the summer months with ac on.

for my truck i did it. this is how my gauge read before. with trans going into the stock heat exchanger it read about 150* on highway and about 180* in city driving
now when i bypassed the rad and used my B&M 28000 cooler along with a deep B&M pan the temps showed this..city 150* it did hit 165* once but on highway it was about 110* to 130*. this was also with a trans with 2800 stall and that didnt have OD on the highway spinning 3k for a consistant 45minutes.

guaged i used was a autometer one

Good to see the temps went down did you have the deep pan before the switch over or was that added when you bypassed the stock radiator

since im a truck i already have a slightly deeper pan then you car guys. but yes after the bypass when i did my stall/motor setup i used a B&M deep pan. so to answer the question better no i had my stock pan the first time around. also to let you know that my deep pan is also close to my ORY pipe so it does get some warmth from the one cross over tube but still remained cool with the cooler and pan.

I did this a while back in my fullsize truck and it worked fine, never had a temp gauge though. My tranny guy said to watch it in the winter though, because it would take a while longer to get up to temp.I didn't drive it too much in the winter but when I did it seemed to slip a little more at first but got better after some driving.
