probs with fuddle 3600 2.2 converter

probs with fuddle 3600 2.2 converter ok...get my converter after a month wait......
get it to my tranny guy to install it.....he puts the converter in and cranks the car...makes a ton of racket....sounds like converter bolts are loose but they are TIGHT....flexplate is ok and tight and straight (tci flexplate btw)....plenty of fluid....
so we unbolt the converter and press it away from the flexplate a lil....turn the motor over...sounds fine...bolt it back up and makes racket....
converter spins like a top when installed on the tranny....with no noise or interference....
we bolt the converter back up and turn the motor over with a ratchet....sounds fine...no noises or hang ups....
i have 150% confidence with my tranny guy...hes fully built my 4l60e with no problems and has done a lotta work for me and its top notch....i doubt its installation error.....
any thoughts/suggestions/comments???

Make sure the bolts are not to long. I had the same proble. It turned OK, but under load (while accelerating) it made the same noises you described.

From what you describe, it sounds more like flexplate noise than anything else. The converter itself, if damaged, will make its noises in drive and reverse, and be silent in park and neutral.

yall were right......pulled the tranny back out and saw a lil rubbing....the bolts were hitting just a tad...i have a tci flexplate and the larger bosses around the holes made it hit a lil....so a lil grinder action and its good to go...
new track times will come....see how it compares to my 4000 im taking out...

I had a similar problem and come to find out something in the cat was knocked loose when I disconnected the Y-pipe and it rattled like hell!!! For some odd reason it has gone away......
