TC install, what am I in for?
OK, so I've got this Fuddle 3600 sitting on my floor, now it just needs to go into the car. I dont have a lift or any air tools, so... who much of a pain is this going to be?
Any special tools I need?
Any good write-ups around for me to read?
Any clue how long it should take?
Basicly anything that will keep me from f*cking up my car would be helpfull.

Dude, without a lift or air tools it's going to be a MAJOR PITA! I would say not having a lift would be the bigger problem though because the tranny needs to come out of the car, and you dong want to be on your back with the car on jackstands while you are pulling the tranny out. Im not saying that it cant be done... but i would really try to find someone with a lift to give you a hand....
If your doing it on the ground I wouldn't recommend doing it without at least getting the attachment for your floor jack that will allow you to raise and lower the trans.
Otherwise good luck and yes it is going to suck especially if you've never done it before.

Here is what it looks like. I've never looked into buying one because I have a regular tranny jack and a lift but I'm certain you can just purchase the attatchment without having to buy the jack to.
The install can be done without a lift or that attachment. Sure it will help you out and make it a tons easier for you but you can do it without. I know b/c I've done it in my gravel driveway before.
You'll definetely need someone to help you out though b/c it is a pita to get the tranny on the jack and keep it level enough to line it up. With 2 of us, we had the converter in, and tranny bolted back up in less then 1 1/2 hrs.

I just did my TC install with the car on Ramps at the front and axle stands at the back. You don't have to remove the Tranny from under the car, you just need to get it to the floor so you can swap TC's.
Now this is CRITICAL make sure when you put your TC in and rotate it untill it drops right on to the pump. Just keep turning it until it clunks home, Failure to do this will result in a broken pump in your autobox and no drive when you bolt it back in.
Guess how I found this out!
The pump parts can be bought on Ebay from a place called Oregon Performance Transmissions for $40 and it's not that hard to replace it, just a pita

I have done it in my garage twice and the second time did not have any help until I had to pull the transmission away from the motor. There are 3 major tools you will need.
1. Alot of extensions
2. One of those extendable arms with a mirror on it so you can find 2 bolts.
3. Swivel
You will need those tools to get the two bolts up top closes to your car, which is bolted to your block, for which you can not see. Other than those two bolts everything is easy. Rather do that then a header install.
