Default Ram VDS installed today---Chatter's...

...just wondering if a little first gear chatter is to be expected. Had local performance shop do the install with the adjustable hydraulics. If this is normal, will it possibly go away with the break in period--I have only put 5 mile's on it. Or is there possibly something wrong with either installation or with the set up...
Help puleezeee.

Sounds like your flywheel needs turning/replaced. If that didnt fix it, Id have them redo it

Chatter is normal w/ that setup

The RAM setup does require a bit more throttle when taking off. Just the nature of the beast <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

There are some compromises when you ask a clutch to hold some serious power.

It's worked great for me <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

A little chatter is normal with the 6130. Mine chattered at first, but after 1200 miles it drives like stock with a tad more grab on take off. Get some break in miles on the clutch and you'll like it...

Josh is exactly right...I just went over 1200 miles and my chatter is almost completely gone. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

Some chatter more than others but it should get better over time.

Thanks all--makes me feel better. I'de feel a lot better if I could actually get it into gear now.....AAAHHHRRGGHH!!!!!--sorry----
Cahtter is now of little concern, after 20 miles of light driving It will only go into gear if I pump the shiznit out of the pedal. A buddy is coming over to help me look it over, possibly bleed it out.
20 minute's ago I left a message for Mike at Rapid Motorsports-where I bought it from---to tell him what had happened. He just called me back and walked me thru bleeding the system out, and offered his assistance tomorrow when I get it in the air. THAT is REAL customer service. Somebody go there right now and buy something from him, I have no money left otherwise I would.

Did you install an adjustable master cylinder? If not, I would highly recommend using one. If you do, make sure it is properly bled and adjusted correctly.

With metallic discs, rear gearing is a big factor on chatter. The lower the gear numerically, the more chatter can be expected on takeoff, as you need to slip the clutch more to get the car moving...

This is a little odd....
I did not bleed the sytem today, but since last night's ride home from work, it has NOT given me any trouble shifting into gear, hmmm. I have NOT been pumping the clutch pedal either. When I did check it (last night) there were NO air bubbles to be seen in the resevoir. Any thoughts?
Yes I have the adjustable master cylinder and slave cylinder.

I assume it's fine now? I'm installing a full ram with the 980 disk and McLeod adjustable master and new slave in 2 weeks.

Viper, Seems fine now, no problems in apx 100 miles and 5 day's later. More chatter than I expected in 1st gear, hopefully it will ease with time. Still breaking it in so no comment yet on the grab factor.
