Default P0748 after Rock On A4 installation.

Don't know how long I had this problem. Only noticed it when my O2 sensor failed and my SES light came on. I put new O2 sensors on and cleared the DTCs but P0748 stays. However, it does not set the SES light. I have approximately 35 miles on my new Rock On Tranny and I am thinking it may have something to do with it. When I take the car out of park and put it into drive or reverse it really hits hard. I have a 3200 stall and don't think this should happen. The actual code reads "P0748 - Pressure Control Solenoid Circuit Electrical (Pending) (History) (Current) (Immature)" Does anyone have any suggestions????

I'm guessing the tranny has a vacuum modulator. This is what replaces the presure control solenoid. The resistor that is put in place of the solenoid came loose or was not put in right. Nothing to worry about.

You have the vac. mod. now. The presure solenoid is obsolete. Your tranny should work as it should.

good luck with Rock on. mine did the same thing took the car back to them dave said he fixed it. then it wouldn't down shift out of OD with out doing it manualy. oh & hit rev limiter wot on the 2-3 shift. they said it was tuning. spent hundred's $$ getting retuning done. tranny never worked. finaly bought new tranny from shop in Ohio. put it in haven't had problem since. don't wait long to get problem figured out. rock on is a great shop til you have a problem they can't figure out, then it's tuning & all the rock on cheerleaders come out of the woodwork defending them.

I just had a unit done by CK Performance with the vaccum mod and show the same code without setting the ses light. I called Chris at CK and he said it was nothing to worry about. Given the fact that the unit works perfectly and I'm real happy with it, I'll give him the benifit of the doubt and believe what he has to say. That coupled with the fact that when I took my car to him, he made every effort to show me every internal part that was bad and what he was replacing it with. He also made sure that I only replaced what was absolutely necessary as the unit had been built by another shop before and had a lot of upgrades already. I'm gonna set the PO478 to "no error reported" with HP Tuners and be done with it! Good luck!

what you need to do is not listen to FmanSS...he is the "head" of the ******** cheerleaders and continues to post unhelpful bullshit. Fman you said RockOn built you a tranny ...then Fast tech and now someone in Ohio. You are a habitual liar and trouble maker. As a matter of fact, the MAJORITY of your posts on this board have been only to bash Rockon. Why? Because you dont have anything worthwhile to offer. I was shocked to find out you are 50+ years old...your prior posts led me to believe you were still poppin' pimples. Go hide back under the turd you crawled out from under. Oh...and IF you spent "thousands of dollars on tuning", then you are not only a liar and troublemaker but also an idiot.

NITEN, call Rockon and make them earn their money...Dave sold you the tranny and I am sure will take care of you if you call him....that is what you paid for.

By no means did I start this thread as a bash on Rock-on. As a matter of fact they ARE the better of the best vendors on this board. I for one request a moderator to ban this (F-MAN-SS) from ls1tech.com for not only bashing an awesome vendor but as well as robbing the subject of my thread.

Hats off to Rock-On and my appologies to you Dave. As you know, I have not been in any hurry on my mods. And definetly didn't want to bother you for something I thought was a minute as this P0748. However, you will recieve a call from me.

I spoke with Dave and he said the same thing. I'm just going to us HPTuner and delete the code from even reporting. As for the tranny hitting hard when going into drive is most likely due to my cam. 110 lsa causing little vacuum which is causing this. Not a problem for the tranny, just different from a passenger car and more like a performance car. Will double check my local tranny shop's installation and make sure they hooked up the vacuum line to the tranny. However, it is hooked up/ t-ed into the master cylinder.

Had the same code, just deleted it. When I had my Torquer 2 it would hit really hard going into reverse and drive. I'm sure someone is gonna hate on Rock-On and say it shouldn't matter how big your cam is or how little vaccuum there is, but after switching from the Torquer 2 to the GT2-3, I can tell you firsthand that a big cam that causes low vaccuum will really firm up the shifts (to the point of it being uncomfortable).

Dave gets an A+ when it comes to customer service in my book. I couldn't be happier with my Rock-On, and I sleep well knowing if it ever broke Dave would take care of me.

Who put the tranny in? You might want to check if they hooked up the vacuum hose to the tranny. I know this may sound simple, but I have been there
