The story I heard was that his dad was the one to blame for it. If that wasn't the case then screw Derek too.

Guess I was one of the lucky ones.

I have no complaints at all with fuddle. It only took a week for him to get me my converter. John also responded to my email within one day of me emailing him. Heres to fuddle racing

That is what I am talking about! There are a bunch of teens on here that haven't the faintest about anything automotive. Time and time again people have ran stock converters from low hp apps and they will hold that much power. Many people make their living off cutting stockers open, brazing them, and reselling. But I guess I am up in the clouds compared to half the people on this site.

Then, why did you make a mistake and state that a stock brazed converter couldn't hold that much power whilst many people run them under high hp engines?

I run a PTC converter myself. Its not a Fuddle but is a $350 converter for a TH-350. I think their 4L60 converter is around 450. Anyway, I dont think building converters is rocket science. They are all made up of the same basic components and work the same way. It really all comes down to picking the right converter for your car. As long as the company you are buying it from can build it to suit what you need thats all you need.

I just got mine installed and raced Friday night. I was able to use my ET STREETS and gained .6 With my 3600 stall fuddle and 3:73 gears. I am satisfied.

Nothing. So I guess it might come down to the fact everyone is different and some ppl. have less tolerance than others.

I have never heard of a converter NOT being delivered, nor Fuddle say you will never get your money back for an undelivered product. I have heard that some orders will be delayed due to foundry issues, which have since been sorted. I have, however, heard many stories about how they go out of their way to make sure you are happy with the choice you have made, and at their expense fix things if they don't work right. I guess that doesnt seem to fit right with some people who must positively have stuff right here right now and stuff everything else. I dont know any Company that would enjoy doing business with these kind of customers, and I dont suppose those customers like doing business with these kind of companies.
this guy said it best and this was the second reply!!!

Yup, i have this old convertor of Cats in my car, and it does perform just as he mentioned. Aslo, when i was looking at buying it from Cat3, i wanted some questions answered about the TC, so i called John and he was more than helpful, he even offered to treat the TC as though i was the original buyer and restall at the price he offered to return users if i ever needed it.. i have dealt with companies poor customer service lately, and i can understand why someone would be upset about not being able to contact a company that has their money, but i never had a problem with the CS at fuddle..

I took possesion of my Fuddle 3400 on Wendsday of last week and had it installed by friday. I love the product because it has already been "street" tested by me (lots of new kills ) and will be track tested this Saturday. It delivered what it said it would, so far. Time will be the test of durability. The buying experience was mixed. The first time I talked with John he was very helpful in helping me decide which product was best suited for my current mods and future mods in my Z. Order was placed but it took almost 3 1/2 weeks for delivery when it should have been about 1-1 1/2 weeks, per him. I placed VARIOUS phone calls with messages left but no response was obtained either by E-Mail or Phone . This is usually not very good for business, especially when your Credit card number has already been given. This makes consumers like me nervous. Then all of a sudden here is my converter delivered and a phone call from Johns wife the next day to verify delivery. She explained that He had been hospitalized and things had fallen behind!!!
Sometimes smaller companies take more orders than what they can fill in a timely manner. That just happens, but the customer shoud always be allerted to delays when they occur. I've heard good and bad on the site and hope that John is a man of his word (as others have stated) when it comes to customer satisfaction and warrenty issues. As for now this is what I have to say about my stall:
WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Car came to life again!!!!!

So... I personally dont have a Fuddle (I have a M6) but I have installed one in a close friends car. It was a 3600 stall.

As far as CS... I know John talked to my buddy for a good while talking about the converter and how to properly launch it and what will/wont work. He was VERY satisfied.

------

As far as cutting costs.... you aparently havent done much as far as business is concerned. There are numerous ways you can cut cost (besides going to China). The actual converters themselves dont cost that much to make. The majority of your overhead comes from management, distribution, and marketing. If you eliminate advertising and middlemen, then you are looking at cutting a large piece of the cost. Look at walmart, that is exactly what they do (plus overseas)... they eliminate the middleman.

Can you buy a fuddle at summit or jegs? No, because you buy them direct. That saves cost.

If you cant see this, then you are blind.
