The first TCI I got, I knew full and well that it was a "test" converter. It developed clutch chatter, but Kevin immediately replaced it with a converter lined with carbon fiber and since then, we've had zero problems with any TCI converter. This all started when John (who is now my husband) had a TCI that set a trans slip code when we started dating. TCI replaced it without harassing him about it. Shortly thereafter, my Yank came apart. Like John said, Yank blamed me and the minimal mods on my car and here I was with a $700 hunk of useless metal AND having to rebuild my transmission from the pump-back out of my own pocket. Kevin Winstead contacted me and I agreed to test a Kevlar clutch lining for them. It didn't work... The next converter he sent me had a carbon fiber clutch lining and it is still going strong. We recently took it to the track where we had a 1.64 short time and ran 7.82 at 87 MPH in the 1/8 mi. That is one tenth BETTER in 60 ft and ET than my Yank ever was in my TA with similar mods.
Bottom line, I don't care how pretty Yank's welds are... if the converters come apart and they refuse to warranty them, I consider THEM to be poor converters and TCIs to be superior, not to mention their top-notch customer service.
Can't wait to get that TCI 4400 in tonight <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

my buddy had a TCI Streetfighter installed in his car and went to the track and ran a 13.79@101.1, and when he had a stock stall he ran a 13.81@103.9, by the way the 60' times were almost identical....TCI-2.09...Stock-2.11

We just bought a 02' SS bone stock 400 miles on the car ran 9:00 put the TCI 3500 converter and headers car ran 8.26,a friend has 99 T/A stock ran 8.9?s added the TCI stall and nothing else 8.20 and 1.70's 60ft time so I have seen more than 1 TCI converter do what it says.
