I think one of the biggest factors in the Vig vs Yank is that PIs converters feel so much tighter. I've heard countless people mention this concept who have had both in their car. I guess to some, driving around with a loose converter all day doesn't matter if you can produce the ETs. I'm just not one of them. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

This Yank seems to be doing pretty well for me. Wouldn't you say? <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" />

i know the top people on here use the 4400, but have they used the 3600 to make sure its no difference really in the to? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

i mean if i had never tried a 3600vig and had a yank 4400 i would more than likely say the vig3600 sucks, get a yank

im not sure if any of the 4400 users have ever tried a 3600 in there car before and compared the times, but that would be interesting to see the results.

colonel, you dont count <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> your car is just a freak machine <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> lol

I say the Colonel should throw a Vig 3600 in his car and find out what he runs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Its the only way to be sure.

"yeah colonel whatcha say it would dang sure be interesting!"

I'd say it'd be a waste of my time. The 60 ft time might be the same but I'd almost surely loss a couple MPH. My guess is that my 9.82@136.84 becomes a 9.97@134.5 with a similar Vig converter. Just a guess mind you. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I've seen too many pert near identical setups over the years with Yanks and Vigs and I know the Yank is the more efficient converter. Dynos tell the same tale. Ya know I only lost 10 RWHP between locked and unlocked with both of my last two Yank converters? That's frickin' amazing and something you WON'T see from a Vig converter! It'd be more like 30-40 RWHP with my setup.

BTW, JS went from a Vig 3600 to a Yank TP4400 (similar actual stall speed, btw) with nothing else changed. The Yank performed better in all regards. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

Ask JS about his experience. Another name that comes to mind who has tried both is Pro Stock John. I don't think you'll ever see him running a Vig 3600 again.

I actually like some looseness better than stock, although my 4200 is a little looser than I would choose. I changed my part throttle shift points (spend more time in lower gears, especially 2nd gear) and that helped. Unfortunately what gives the Vig the tighter feel also reduces the shift extension and midrange torque. On the street, I love doing WOT blasts between 60 and 110 mph so I opt for all the shift extension I can get.

All those people are or had stock displacement. We want to see what happens with the big cubes. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

TA Fan Dan:

That is not specific. How much MPH, what was the 60', what was the weather, same track, same mods? Hell, I didn't even see what that car runs.
Maybe a 4600 is too much stall for a V6. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

I'm not saying it didn't work, but the facts provided do not justify a "suck ***" comment.

FWIW I have had a Vig2800 and have a Vig3200 and they both performed well. I have no problem with the PI product however my next converter will be a Yank PT4000 series. Yank converters are used in most of the quickest SI cars with times posted on LS1Tech. It is good to try other products.

I don't post here much or read the board much, but I gonna take a guess and say the fastest members here are the fastest because they've dumped >$15,000-$20,000 in to thier engines from MTI or Agostino 396ci to 4-- what ever ci and happen to choose Yank.
