I plan on getting a yank. I started off wanting fuddle, too many complaints, then moved to tci, same deal, then to vig, now to Yank. Of all the reading on converters i have done i have not read a complaint about a Yank.

nothing wrong with yank, but there are alot better stuff out there then yank, that's all. If you are putting a converter in a street car that will see the track every now and then, it will be fine, but if you are on a track use buildup, I'd skip the yank and go for a really really good one, it will payoff in the end.

what would you recommend for a street car, that is supercharged, makes around 526 rear wheel and needs to be tight for street driving yet perform well at the strip.

i'm thinking yank cause of the efficiency. Its pricey but their stuff works and lasts. pye3400 seems like a good choice. i could go and get my TCI freshened up but not sure if its worth to do it. I want something extremely efficient and that will hold the power. I plan on making more power in the future.

My first converter was a TCI 3600 TCI built for us it was a nitrous converter ran it for 2 years with 0 problems

My 2nd convertor was a TCI4000 it was a little to loose

3rd converter was a yank py3600 it fell apart in 1 month at about 15 passes sent it back the rebuilt it cost me another 375.00 2 months later the lockup clutch goes out send it back they will not warranty it again cost another 325.00 It is for sale right now

4th converter is my 1st one i had the TCI cleaned up and it going again this converter has well over 300 passes from the beggining to now it works perfect

performnce results TCI3600 best 60ft 1.32 yank was a 1.33 TCI has over 300 passes yank failed twice at around 50

My vote goes to TCI

I know of a local gent who had a VERY similar problem with Yank, as a matter of fact I heard that he had TCI rebuild the Yank for him. I called Kevin Winstead at TCI and got him to send me a TCI SSF that had been tightened up a touch for N2O. I am not sure who some folks here have been dealing with at TCI but I can tell you first hand that Kevin is a stand up guy and has won me over when it comes to customer service. He is wiling to go the extra mile to make their customers happy. I am still running this convertor and have a best 60'ft time of 1.53 on a COMPLETELY stock suspension hitting a 150-shot out of the hole with 3.42 gears. Now I run PI Vigilante series in my Turbo Buicks and love them as well. My GN has a best of 1.55-60 ft. Hope this helps.

I have a Yank 3600 in my car right now and hate it, I used to own a TCI 3000 and it felt like it hit wayyy harder than my Yank, I will be going to a TCI 3800 in the near future.

Well after 3 years my TCI converter is finally starting to let go, the lock up seems like its gone, when i mash the pedal the rpms come and it just doens't go anywhere.

dont wanna pay 900 bucks for py3400 yank converter but I want something that will last and hold the power I'm making.

note to self* need to start banging a rich woman for new parts..
