Default 4L60E/4.10/6200 rpms/26" tires/3rd gear

How fast would you be going?
How about with 28" tires?
Thanks!

well in the 1/4 mile people say with 4.10's and 26 in tall tires you would be turning about 6500 or 6600 (in 3rd gear) RPM but if you were to go with a 28 inch tall tire it would probably move you on down to about 6300-6400(in 3rd also).

I have been seriously going with 4.10's..... The only thing that is stopping me is I have 3.73's ready to install but I plan on going with heads and cam later on so I think it might be best for me to run a 4.10 with a 28 tall tire for now then go to a 26 when I get heads and a cam.

Not necessarily, depends on what rpm you shift.

I have run 26's for a few years, and with low shift points like 6200 it's not bad at all.

28's are pretty darn big and too much for a stock-innards car unless you have running a sick amount of gear.

U need to determine what MPH you are shooting for and or shift points before setting the car up for MAX ET.

My car for instance was figured at 123 MPH 1/4 mile and shifting at 6800 rpm.

I'm running a 27.5/4.56 combo and after figuring out the verter slippage it came in at 6900RPM threw the lights. Now my same combo shifting at 6800 and running a 26/4.10 wouldve gone threw the lights at 6700.

Here's the calculation---> MPH X Gear ratio X 336 divided by tire height.

Hope that helps
The extra gear along with a taller tire should be better since u have more rollout/gear.

For now my shift points will be no higher than 6200 (stock internals). I am going to install 4.10 gears soon, mine are on the way out.
I trap 116 now with a 125 shot, I am going to up that shot soon and hope for closer to 120. My current tires are about gone so I need to decide which to buy now with the new gears and more nitrous. I am looking at either 26x10.5x15 or
28x10.5x15 ET streets.
Thanks for the replies and help.
