hook the cable to the tranny up and go I also have a manual valve body in my 4L60E

Right. If it says 700r4, it'll work on the 4l60e just fine.

The computer will still do all it's stuff, the gear shift in the car just moves the gear selector arm on the side of the transmission. The B&M site probably means that if you put a 4l60e in a non computerized car that you will need an aftermarket controller.

I havent got started on mine yet, but would you need the black sheet metal plate if you started with an Auto car? Granted I am going from 4L60E to 4L80E, but just hadnt looked under there yet. Stock shifter isnt manual valve body friendly. Maybe I'll do a write up...

i believe the only manual valve body available for the 4l60e is a forward pattern - TCI sells the valve body.

all 4l60 manual valve bodies are going to be reverse pattern.
