Default Output shaft bearing

Anybody change one of these? I believe that its causing bad vibrations in my car. I was told its easy to do and than again I was told that its going to be like a total rebuild. Any thoughts on it and what I should do?

i think that it is at the back of the guts of the transmission, which i believe can only come out from the front, so everything has to come out to get to it. i could be mistaken...

there is also an output shaft bushing thats inside the tailhousing. helps hold your driveshaft yoke tight. they do wear, but its not common.
vibration could be as simple as a tranny mount or tire pressure.
good luck.

I changed out the mount and checked the tires, drive shaft , rear end... The spine has way too much play in it. This vibration is not something that could be mistaken for something like that anyways..it will shake the whole car, to the point that you really feel like something is going to break any second. Tell me more about this bushing in the tail shaft? Is it easily accessible or just as hard to get too.. it sounds like a rebuild coming..which sucks considering everything else is working fine..

remove the tailshaft and its on the inside of the tailhousing. looks like a rod or main bearing, its just a full circle that fits into the tailhousing.
sounds like you have more problems if the car is shaking that bad.
dang.

you could pull your converter loose from the flexplate and make sure its not out of balance too. just start it with the converter pushed back.

Yea..it was, but then they gave me the ole :well we need to take it a part and look at it " crap..very made me made..but they are going to do it for $200 and replace the bearings.. I watch them take the pan off and no metal was inside or anything..so thats a good sign.. I really should have taken this opportunity and did it myself, rebuilding it to be more stout, but fall is coming and its just to nice to sit in the garage...thats what's summer is for..well at least round here..
