Default TH350 tailshaft switch

Is there a kit that allows you to keep the same trans mount and reuse your stock tailshaft and torque arm? Someone has told me there is. Because on the Th350 that i ahve, the tailshaft is 6inches long and someone said there is a kit to do what i said above. Thanks

to use stock driveshaft, you will need a 9" tailshaft. you can buy a torque arm mount kit through summit, and you can use your stock A4 trans mount...just need to modify it a bit.

Almost all Th350 full size trucks came with a 9" tail housing. Look for one of those

A transmission hardparts supplier could sell you the parts to make up a kit. It's just the output shaft and tailhousing. Plus all the required gaskets, seals and o-rings since the trans needs to be torn down pretty much all the way to swap the output.

when switching the tailshaft to a 9" tail they also have to replace the drum. I'm just having a local transmission shop build me a th350 with a 6" tail with the provisions for the torque arm mount. The tail shaft is only costing me 120 bucks extra and the total trans build is going to run me just under $700. I just have to account for a new driveshaft.

Why switch tail shafts? Long shaft TH350's are cheap and easy to find. Almost every GM truck came with one for many years. I already have one waiting to be rebuilt when my 4L60E goes out.
