I was driving to work and took off from a stop sign and I heard a small bump noise then it made a vibration and a howl sound but only in first???
my tranny was rebuilt about 25000 miles ago and it had the stock PLan gear.

Default Ouch!

I was going to replace my 4 gear set to the 5, but the supplier where I purchase my parts warned me about that move.

They have heard about this problem, and advised me to not replace my 4 gear until the "bug" get's worked out of the 5. Other shops has had problems with the OEM set.

I have been told it is not a OEM part. This trans was new and came with the car when I bought it, guy said the trans was supposed to handle 650 hp. Guess I must be making a tad over that huh? LMAO I'm gonna buy a burnt trans and get the OEM planetarys out of it!

Way to try to sound smart, but has nothing to do with this post. I've never seen a GM 5 pinion planet crack, I've only seen bearing failures causing them to go out.

what models come with a 5 pin planetary? is it a heavy duty item found in
4wd or what? I am looking to find a burnt tranny I can get the planetary's out of, I think they are quite pricey new and I am sure you can buy a core for around $100 or less. Someone also told me that the 4 pin would hold upwards of 450 hp or more with no problems.
Any help here would be appreciated! Can't wait to get this thing on the road!
