Default 3500/4000/4500 stall???

Cam is a 244/248 .600+ lift intake/exhaust
Stage 2 5.3 heads
Forged 347
200 shot
28'' tire

Either a 3.73 or 4.10 depending on what feedback I get from here.

I have a TCI3500 but was considering trading for a fuddle 4k and then sending it out to have it restalled to a 4500. What should I do?

Thanks

Yeah but I am building a 9 second setup here. I need to know what stall/gear ratio is going to put me at the ideal setup for N/A and for nitrous. I think the cam may need a 4500 just to idle properly haha

How high are you willing to spin your motor?

I would probably keep the 3500 stall and run the 3.73 gears with the 28" tires. With your combo (strong engine and N2O) I would be worried that you might not through the 1/4 with the 4.10 gears.

But do u feel that the 3500 stall would be enough for that cam? I was thinking I would probably need at least a 4000

Well car will be driven on the street a lot. So I want something that will be best all around. I'm thinking of just throwing a 4000 fuddle in and see how things are. The stall wouldn't have anything to do with me running out of gear on the nitrous would it?

I have a 3.55 in there right now. If I end up putting a th400 in the car I may leave that gear to see how the car does. but it equates to like a 3.08 with that tall tire. Car always bogged before but wasn't making near the power it will be now. I am mainly just undecided on stall. I am leaning towards a 4000 though.

The 4000 stall converter will have more slip than the 3500 converter. It might hurt you by 100-200 rpm on the 200 shot.

I think I would do just what you suggested, leave the 3.55 gears in there and go with the 4000 stall. Make a few passes and let the results point you in the right direction for your gears.

Yup seems to make the most since. Easier to change the gears out after I see where I stand with this gear/tire/stall setup.
