Default 700r4 what converter

i have a built 700r4 trans with 4:11 gears in the rear and drive it alot on the street..it has a 2800 lockup converter and I want to go bigger..I dont want to go to big cause I dont want it to slip..ive heard about the electronic lockup and I didnt get it for mine but am wondering if I go bigger could I just get the electronic lock up and then not have any slip problems????

any help would be much apreciated...

oh yea and its also going to start seeing the strip a lil bit too now...

I would consider a 3500 stall is that 2800 a full size converter if so you will really like the smaller 9.5 , and yes setting up for lockup is a good idea .

Not to mention that a non lockup 700r4 will overheat pretty quick.

i was wondering if I got a bigger stall lockup converter, i was afraid of i not locking up on the highway...and i thought I read that I could hook up the electronic lock up and conrol it manualy at higher speeds...

Never heard of that one. But if you want any longevity out of your trans, you have to wire up the lockup. You can buy lockup kits to install the necessary electronics and such. Pickup a Summit or a Jeg's and you can find them in there if you don't already have the stuff in the trans. Any 4l60e converter will fit the 700r4.
