car bucking when locked up help...

Default car bucking when locked up help...

i have a vig3600 stall. when it locks up at about 35 and if im crusing at likt 40 and take my foot off the gas and off the brake it will buck pretty bad. but if i have my foot on the gas or brake it wont do it. what could be the problem? i have a tune for it, tsp mail tune so im guessing they did it right. but i had a fuddle before the vig and it did the same thing. thanks for the help.

Mine does the same thing, I believe its the tune for your cam.

Another one here.....I was told it was tuning. I haven't had it tuned yet but I still wonder what causes it.

lockup at very low speeds with large cams and you at times will get a bucking jerking feeling , kinda a lope of the cam feeling , tipping into the gas or braking at low speeds generally unlocks the converter.

I have a stock cam.....my tuner said he's got the fix for it....I'll have to ask him what it is.

Does it feel like you have a trailer hitch behind the car ?? the phenomenon called trailer hitching in the mustang world is often cuased by to low of a lock up speed with a big cam either that or very poor tunning.

i dont have a big cam though...but at least im not the only one with this problem...my cam is only a 224 but with a 112 lsa maybe that has something to do with it...will that bucking hurt anything?? thanks

TCC Lockup is called for in the stock tune...remember what it was like driving when stock? It locked up fine.

Mine does it too, but really depends on the RPM I am at. I like to call it CAM lag, but what you all have mentioned is similiar to my ordeal. I am going to replace my current cam, which is a 232/236 on a 113 LSA to a 224/224 ona 114 LSA. I am pretty certain that this is going to help when the tuner gets his hands on it, because my car has never liked the cam I have in it now. Tomorrow, it is coming out and the new one is going in.

The bucking can be fixed with a tune.. Do a search in the PCM forum I am sure you will find numerous threads about it.. M6 guys suffer the same prblems

i'v driven 2.73 cars and such without a converter but my car had a 3000 when i got it and now has a 3700 i cant tell between locked up and unlocked.. i have no bucking at all either

It's all in the tune. Usually worse with bigger stalls. My old Yank Y3200 worked like stock, but when I stepped up to a TCI 3800, then a Yank PT4000 it required extensive tuning.
