Engine revs much higher before moving after stall installed
I recently installed a Fuddle 3400 STR2.1. Yeah, I know; I purchased it before all the issues started up.
The engine revs to around 2200-2400 before it starts to move. Is this normal?
Also, when moving down the road at a steady speed, I can lift the throttle and then reapply and the revs will drop about 200 rpm (when traveling about 40 mph).
Other than these 2 issues, I like it, although I only have around 500 miles on it at this time.

stall converters will cause you to give it more gas to move, the converter doesnt transfer too much torque before its stall speed.
second issue, is when cruising your car should be in lock-up at 40 (since you have 3.42s). i have 3.23s so mine usually locks up close to 50, but when you let off then hit the gas it will rev a small amount then drop back into lock-up usually.
the issues you are experiencing are normal, i have the same exact converter by the way.

The only other thing to do would be to check your fluid level. If it's a bit low, that can cause slippage like that. Check with hot trans, level ground, engine running.
But yeah, that's what a loose converter does.

The Fuddle 3400 I had was super loose. It would barley roll when I took my foot off the brake and took 2500-3000 rpm to acelerate with normal traffic with 2.73's so yours sounds about normal.

Mine starts moving at 1800-2200rpm.

This is not normal. A 3400 stall should creep forward while in gear without touching the gas. Check the fluid and be sure it is full.
My 4000 stalled car moves at 1000rpm.

2200rpm sounds right for that converter, as far as RPM required to start accelerating as you would during normal driving.

At 2400 rpm, a 3400 stall should be moving very crisply on a car with 3.42s.
Man that's a loose conevrter. Even with my YTP 4200, at 3300 rpm I was pulling away from anybody not trying to race me.
It's the Fuddle. They seem to make loose converters. I gotta get my 3600 to around 31-3300 before she moves.
