thats the plan.. for the 80e that is.

i will be keeping an eye out for the shoulder of the arp bolt to bottom out before the head is tight to the surface and add a washer if needed

my complete automatic combo is

4l80e from transformance
rossler t brake
yank sc3000 stall
tci flexplate
arp flexplate and converter bolts
denny's 3.5" aluminum shaft
hughes dipstick
b&m quicksilver shifter
BMR 4l80e crossmember
energy trans mount

actually i havent picked a trans cooler type or location yet

Don't mean to hijack (even though same topic).. I have an early 4L80E I am trying to mate to a LS1. I have the spacer but it looks like the bolt patern on the flex plate is 3 holes at 9 5/8" in a triangle and the verter has 6 holes at 10" in triangle.

Do the early / later 80E's have different bolt patern?
Or does it sound like I have the wrong flex plate?

TIA

Shaun

I can't remember for sure but I know it's somewhere around a 92.. Maybe 91 or 93 but with i that range. I think I might have the wrong flex plate PN 12563136..

Where are your bellhousing bolts? Do all of them, line up with the LS1 block? The early ones don't have a top bo;t. it's a little off to the passanger side.

FYI.. Pace advised 12602448 is the replacement for PN 12580709.. However, there seems to have been a MFG'ing issue on the 12602448. All the ones Pace had in stock were not drilled with the correct number of holes and spacing from what Chuck has told me. He is getting a few new ones from GM hoping they are right.

Mighty, there is no need at all to have more then 3 bolts. 3 bolts will hold 2000 hp.

my last update to this post.

tci ls1 flexplate, yank 4l80 converter

the 3 bolts yank supplies are too short for the tci flexplate

you need 20mm long. get grade 8 equivalent or better

the tci flexplate has 3 hole positions for ls1 and 3 for standard small block

the yank converter has 3 hole positions for ls1 and 3 for standard small block

i bought 6 bolts, and lined it up and just like JMBLOWNWS6 said, all 6 just go right in.

for 50 cents a bolt it is silly not to go ahead and put all 6 in.

i also ground the paint off of all the surfaces, inside and outside of the flexplate, and mounting surface of the converter.

yank masks over the converter holes but the entire foot needs to be paint free, as that is the mating surface.

tci may claim that they no longer paint their flywheels and use a grey coating etc... but there are plenty of new black flexplates in circulation as i just got one.

that is all

Im glad you got it all worked out bro! I am mad busy with a 402 T88 project and doing a 4l80 also in it. I will post the pics I took a long time ago so everyone can see it with six bolts. The pics suck but you can see it at least.

Yea I run around with the manual valve body and have my pressure switch in the tranny wired up so you cant lock it up only in 4th(od). It is nice and I must say it wasnt cheap. Im sure you can get a good price for what you have now and make the switch.
