Post Deciding between 3 converters

I'm going to be going to a TH400 with a TB and a RMVB... I'm going to be using a B&M Pro-Stick... I have a D1SC on my motor right now and I'm going to be shortly building it to have about 650rwhp-700rwhp... I'm building it for a frequent strip car but want to drive it on the street also... I'm trying to decide somewhere around a 3200-3400 stall for it... I've narrowed my choices down to Coan, Neal Chance, and Fuddle...I've seen that Fuddle has had some problems on here but I'd like to hear from people that have had bad and good experiences so that I can make the decision for myself... If more specifics are needed please ask... Thank you and I hope that you can help me with my decision...If you have experience with one can you please give specifics to your setup and how it performs.... Thank you, Chris

"other" is going to win this poll. most people will tell you the only two stalls you should be considering are yank and vigilante.

you've heard bad things about yank and vig? yet you're willing to buy a fuddle which is a lower-end converter in comparison. interesting.

What makes yank and vig. such a better convertor? just because fuddle had some health problems. and was hard to get ahold of for awhile. even yank and vig. stalls have problems sometimes, $Hit happens. just you don't hear about it as often, because there a bigger company, and not a one man show. so they were easier to get ahold of when the problems occured. but that dosen't make yank or vig. a better made stall. By the way fuddle gets there stall from howards converters.

there are quite abit of people running fuddle stalls with great results, and pulling great 60ft. times. that is one reason I went with a fuddle stall...

Thanks for everyone's responses... That's what I like to hear.. I just want well informed opinions to base my opinion upon... I'm obviously doing research on my own but it's really nice to have a little guidane along the way...

The main reason that I ever considered Fuddle was because when I required about a converter they emailed me back with a recommendation within a day or so...He didn't just recommend something and say there you go, he actually explained why it would work well compared to other converters (not brands, just stall speeds for my app)

I'm really not siding with Fuddle vs another, simply stating my experiences thus far... I do want people's opinions as stated before but I don't want something so one sided that it defeats the purpose of comparing... Like I've said before, if the product is so great then please state why.. I mostly want just technical reasoning but customer care is also a big priority too...

because yank and vig are probably the 2 top companies ran in the most track cars, they've been around a lot longer, they're made with better parts and have a better efficiency rating...to name a few. we won't even get into customer service and quality control...

i'd probably look into a yank myself.

yank uses billet parts in most of their converters. they, along with vig, are known for being 2 of the highest efficiency converters out there. that's why they're chosen to run in drag/high horsepower applications. there's not many people out there with 1000rwhp strip cars running fuddles. there's a lot running yanks and vigs. that's what i base my opinion on. if i see all the die-hards and pro's running a specific brand, i'm going to trust that brand the most. i'm not saying fuddle is a bad converter, but very few will say fuddle is superior to a yank or PI vigilante converter. if you don't believe me, just look at the price difference, and remember, "you get what you pay for" applies in nearly all purchases.

well I had a fuddle 3400 and went to a Vig 3600 both on an FLT tranny and Speed inc tune. The fuddle was way loose and had the worst clunky chattery lockup of any converter I've had in this or other cars. Nobody can say my tune was off either because the Vig went in with the same tune as the fuddle but the vig was perfect no chattering clunky lockup much tighter and gained 2mph in the 1/4 as well. I did have a massive failure while I was running the fuddle regardless of it being the converter or trans the converter was junk and I had planed on going with a Vig regardless.

Best with Fuddle: 12.53 @ 108.96 with a 1.8 60. I couldn't cut below a 1.8 60 for the life of me with the Fuddle, for some reason. On top of that, a month later it ate my trans. I rebuilt the trans, slapped a YankSS3600 in there, and recently went a best of 11.83 @ 114.53 with a 1.66 60. So I'm a Yank guy all the way.

+1 for ATI. Look at a lot of the fast TH350/400 cars in the drag racing section. They are using ATI and so am I this year.

I've heard some really good stuff about them too...I should have put them as an option... I know that KP is running them in the low 9's consistently...

I keep hearing really good customer reviews from Fuddle but there has been a few that have had not so good results... I like to hear both sides because most won't say a thing unless they have a problem with a product...Thank you to everyone that has voted or put in a response...
