My rear line fitting on the tranny is long, and sticks inside the tranny. It's a quick connect. My builder says it NEEDS that length sticking inside. I think I'm gonna grab the QC fittings and go from hard line to hose.

Anyone know what U joint would convert a small shaft (95) to the 03 Yoke? I picked up one joint based on a spicer catalog and thave the diameters correct but nee the yoke side to be wider. Basically a Cross U-ujoint is necessary.
EDIT: Here are the specs
what I need:
Yoke Side uses 1.188 cup diameter and 4.124 width
Driveshaft side uses 1.0640 cup diameter and 3.6350 width
The stock install utilized exterior spring clips to hold the joint in place
Thanks

From what I "thought" I understood, HPtuners allows you to reflash a 99-02 F-body with an A4 OS if you have a M6 (or newer 02 OS if you have a 99-01). Once that is done (or you already have an A4) you can copy the trans settings from a 4L80E equiped vehicle in to your tune. How ever, I have tried this in my 1963 LS1/4L80E swap and I can only get reverse and one forward gear (not sure what gear, feel like 2nd though). I tried data loging the gear but it shows 2nd all the time, even in reverse, park and neutral.
I was just advised by e-mail from HPtuners that they do have to do some changes.
BTW, I am using a very early 4L80E. This one required a different internal wiring harness one other internal device (think it was a manifold pressure sensor). One bolt hole does not line up.
A 4L80E converter is a different bolt pattern from a 4L60E. So even if you use a spacer, you need to have a converter with a 4L60E bolt pattern and a 4L80E pump end. I'm using a 4L80E converter along with a 4L80E flexplate.

This is from cablebandit's write up.
4l60e to 4l80e harness......speartech or speed-engineering. When you hook up the ISS wires to the pcm, they go to pins 22-23 of the red connector, if you gently take off that red plastic (the part that makes it the RED connecter) the pins slide in VERY easily and you can see how they lock/unlock. The instructions with the harness tell you what wires go wherel....very easy and idiot proof...5 minute deal.

My 4L80E was 270 on the shipping pallet. That might help you.
I'm really diging the 4L80E in my truck (63 P/U). I'm running a stock verter with 3.73's and a 275/50/15 BFG DR. Given it's not fully tuned yet, it gets out of the hole with out spining tires. I shifted it yesterday for the first time at 5900 and it chirped the tires real good in second. It was down 10-15* timing due to TQ management and I still need to dial the AFR a bit, But I think the tall first will help me out of the hole when I start playing with the bottle.

Another tip: If you are running a stand alone trans controller such as TCI, you can re-flag your ECU as M6 to prevent SES codes generated by the disconnected stock trans harness. The TCI unit comes with it's own harness. You will splice RPM, TPS, and speedo.

never addressed?
I was reading this thread since I am really thinking about the 4L80E swap and needed to know what I need to do and what all is involved with it. This thread is full of everything I need except I never saw the LT-1 questions answered? I will be putting the 80E in my 96 LT-1 if I decide to go with the 80E(not sure yet over a T-56 cause I'm doing circuit racing and not sure what is better yet?) What is different in the write up for a LT-1 car? If anyone knows please help..
