guess I grabbed an older 4l80e, not realizing how far back the older 4l80s go. mine has the ears and the cooler lines next to each other. the yoke has been tripping me up. there is so much info old and new that it's hard to sift though all of it in one sitting.
Im in the process of prepping it for swapping into my 98 trans am. I'm going to do a step by step install specifically for 98 red headed step children lol
this one happens to be a bolt on yoke with the half splines and oring on it. From what it seems, i have a 96 4l80e according to the shipment.
before cutting the ears and lift point. apparently ls specific 4l80e dont have these.
one side done. gotta clean it up. although some use a cutting wheel, i found that a sawzall with a milwaukee metal blade, cuts it way easier and like butter. An angle grinder is better for cleaning up edges. id recommend bigger batteries for your cordless lol the 1.5 and 2.0 amp just done last lol gotta up my battery game
