Question 4L60E-HD2 vs. 4L60E-3 (difference) ??

So I getting ready to purchase a Transgo shift kit, but I don't know which one to buy......What is the difference between the 4L60E-HD2 and the 4L60E-3??

Plus, if anyone knows the cheapest place to purchase them, it would be great.

thanks,
James

i think the 3rd stage puts the manual valve body in the tranny. i have the HD2 in my car and i really like it. but either kit has to be put in by a professional. i believe that is the only difference.

Though I have never used the 3 Its a full manual valve body conversion kit , No automatic functions, No pcm required. Where as the HD2 retians all auto functions and relys on the PCM for shift timing and gears.

Thank you for your honest answer. I guess the HD2 is the one for me then!

Does the 4L60E-3 have the same upgrades as the hd2 kit, but includes the manual valve body?

so the kits are the same minus the valve body? Does the shifting match the display on the center console (1st gear is pulled all the way back and 4th is in the middle of console?
