Default problems with torque converter going in

so my converter wont go in.
i put the converter in the trans all the way
its a tci super street fighter
the converter is loose spinning in the trans untill i get all the bolts on trans snug then it get tight and gets locked p in there. i know the converter should move back and forth a few but theres no room what so ever. i can put my hand behind the converter and feel that the converter is going allllt he way up to the seal and cant go any farther. any suggestions please help
trans has been out for 3 weeks for a converter change

its not in all the way did it fall in three times DO NOT START IT UP AND LOOSEN THE TRANNY BOLTS OR WE WILL HAVE ANOTHER BROKEN PUMP

trans is back off. but i cant get the ****** on. i'm starting to hate this thing

Stand trans up on tail and try to install converter that way .

Chris, I'll be in for most of the day... out for a party mid afternoon and then back to work on the race car this evening.

Call me if you are in a bind!

And whatever you do... don't force it, be patient with it and it will slip in to place. Remember like I said on the phone yesterday... you will know the converter is installed properly when you cannot slide your fingers between the converter and the pump.
