Sounds like you have a broken or stripped sun sunshell a common weak point. And no there may not be any code. But you do have a mechanical issue POWER flows through the sun shell for 2nd,4th and REVERSE Trans will need to be gone through or replaced

Thats hard to say most shops wont do a repair like that for less than a rebuild because of warranty issues. I mean they do have to disassemble the trans mostly just to replace that peice

Depending on your needs you are in the $1500 - $2500 range.

Unfortunately there is more to it than just a shell replacement.

I have actually just thrown in a new sun shell before, if it broke clean and wasn't driven afterwards, you might get away with it.

Make sure to upgrade to the beast shell when you have it done. We have a modified version of this shell that uses a bearing and a modified low roller race. Nice piece IMO. Vince
