I personally do not believe that you guys RNR and road test every trans you build. Especially with the volume of units you claim to build. Are you checking line pressure and cooler flow? How long are they really tested? If this is what you are really doing. How does this new system of yours work?

Actually we do . We have a van set up with four studs for the bell to engine bolts. have devised a crossmember for it that uses only a center bolt for the mount and two clamps at the frame.
cooler qiuick connects. Van linkage just slides in. Drive shaft. installation with two guys takes approx 15 minutes. Electric pump fills trans no measurement needed. Yes there is a guage set up and the cooler is stand alone and flow is basically verified by cooler temp . The whole process takes about 30 to 40 minutes,
Cleaning and packaging takes about as long. As for volume we do two to three trans a day R&I and test run 2- trans a day is no difficult task really , Our local shop does 5 to 6 cars a day also , We are a well equipt shop we are not doing this on the ground lol.

shopdog, it almost seems like you are trying to get at something here is it really that hard to believe. I myself can R&R a 4l60e in a f body in 2 hrs that is how I made my mone at the dealer i worked at furthermore I can overhaul a 4l60e in 4 hrs it is not really that complicated if this is all you do everyday. Transmissions are built everyday at our shop not just when we get the order so testing 3 transmissions a day is not a major feat with an operation such as ours no we are not putting 200 miles on a tranny but we do however make sure that the usual stuff is not gonna be usual. Yes there will be failures as in any type of mechanical work human error and parts we will never be able to eliminate but we do try.

frank, i am happy to hear you guys are testing the trannies before they go out now, as it will minimize many possible issues and you wont have to keep sending out more trannies if a customer recieves a faulty one..
i am also happy to say that after 2000 miles, my level 3/3000 stall are still performing great!

Yes though is wasnt a major issue about 1 in 20 and most of those ended up being something fixable on the customers end(faulty solenoid/sensor etc). Still it happened and each time was both anoying to the customer and in the case where we swapped units very exspensive for us. So we decided this was a practical cost effective solution. And you might be impressed with how and astrovan with a 3000 stall and a 4.3 launches lol I was! Making up the converter to use a 4.3 early type engine to a ls1 trans was fun to since we wanted it to be a simple bolt up with no spacers etc but a little measuring /cutting and trial and all set it was actually kinda fun setting it all up.
