Default need help deciding what to do...second gear slipping bad

K i have 2002 z28 Auto!!

after i bought the car 2weeks had gone by and it started to slip in second gear. It was still under warranty ( used car one i had to pay 50%) Well they said that a eletric part had gone bad and caused a drop in pressure which burn my clutches( which was second gear bands)

So now 3 months later and the damn second gear is slipping again. I need some advice on the matter. I dont wanna put it back stock...im scared the **** is gonna break again. CAr has only 72000 miles.

Well you could purchase a built unit , However that would not be covered under the dealers warranty .That would be my advice wether its from us or someone else

Default second gear problem

The slip in second gear is not usually caused by an electrical problem , and the dealer would probably not have payed for a "Quality" rebuild . Most just want the cheapest fix just to get you out of their hair . If you get a good rebuild done on your 4L60E it should give you a long service life !!
You say you don't want to go back stock . Our shop ,as well as some of the other sponsors on LS1 can build you any thing that you need . Just give us a call and we can point you in the right direction !!!!

As our signature says thats what we do lol. And unless you have alot of money or plan on a massive build up I would stay with a 4L60E

I'd stick with the 4L60E. Great streetablility w/overdrive, and no custome fab to make it mount right. Definitely get a built unit, cuz believe me I know, you'll just keep breaking the stock one, esp. with heads/cam or poweradder. A well built 4L60E from a good place can handle quite a bit now a days.
