Default Transmission Flush: How good is the all purpose ATF ?

I have had Mobil 1 synthetic in my TC and transmission for two years and decided it's time for a flush. Jiffy Lube (and the others) do a 14 quart flush with one ATF for all vehicles.

This ATF is guaranteed to meet all Mercon, Dexron,..., everybody's requirements.

Do you recommend this fluid?

99 z28, 3500 stall, shift kit, A4, stage 2 heads and cam...

Well, my girlfriend had her Mercury flushed but they didn't say it was "all purpose ATF". Anyway, it works ok. No problems.

Well yeah the transmission fluid they use probley meets the requirements of most vehicles. Cause most vehicles require Dextron III. But don't go to spiffy lube, go to an independant shop and they should charge you $100 or more depending on what machine they use.

Can I bring my own ATF (redline 14 qts) and have them use that?

Sure you can do that but I would ask first.
