Default Whos running a YANK SS4000???? too much??

im looking into buying a converter and found a great deal on a used Yank SS4000 but im a little worried its going to be too much stall compared to the SS32/3600's ive been lookin at. who else is running this? how do you like it? does it take a lot to get the car moving?

I just upgraded to a PT4400 from a SS4000. It is abslolutely not too much at all. I loved that converter. I love the PT4400 more, but the SS4000 is nice and tight for street driving IMO and I ran mine with 3.23's. I started with a 3500 and I noticed no difference in city driving between the 3500 and the SS4000. Just get ready for some traction issues!! You'll love it.

I have a Yank 4200 and it is a bit more slip but you get use to it on the street and you will love it at the track where it all counts! mine is making alot of waves for me!

i have a 3500 waiting to go in my car.. but my friend just put in his ss4000 in his car...that **** is freakin bad ***! i dunno if i would DD tho. from what i noticed it has to rev alil to high for my personal prefrence. it defenatly looks fun to drive tho. but my car is DD and gas prices are an issue for me. if your not to worried bout gas then id say go for it. it defenatly wakes the car up.

I run a 3800 and wish I ordered a 4000. I've been told that it's probably really a 4000; regardless, I've run 1.6Xs on DRs at full weight with only a lid, tranny tuning, and catback on 3.23s. I LOVE the converter though.

My brother ran a 4000, 3.73s, complete exhaust, and 100-shot, and had a problem pushing through the converter at WOT. The shift extension was around 5400-5500 N/A but would constantly go higher and into the rev' limiter sometimes under the shot. It seems to me if you're running an OEM redline go with the 3600 for nitrous and a 4000 N/A.

Good luck.

Not sure if your still looking for an ss4000 but I have one with less than 1000 miles on it for sale. This converter is awesome, I gained over 2 tenths and 5 mph in the 1/4 over my vig3800 and it drives 10 times better than the vig did. The only reason I'm selling it is because I'm going to a th400 setup. If your interested just pm me.
