I would try and find one off a GN or a Monte Carlo
from about '87. The Monte will definitely have
the universal pattern bellhousing (305 SBC), the
GN might have BOP pattern? But the GN / GNX /
Turbo Regals will have the best guts I believe
since they had the highest-rated-output motors.
The 200R4 uses a TV cable for kickdown, no
computer, you will have to cobble up something
from the throttle pulley to pull the cable. I
reckon there is stuff ready-made from places that
sell built trannies for swaps.

well, if you go w/ a full manual valve body, you wont have to worry about the tv cable. side from that, it can fry the tranny if you dont have it adjusted properly.
the 200-4r is a great choice for a street/strip od unit. you can run them into the 9's when built right, and still drive home w/ overdrive ;D

You need to look for one that has BRF on the nameplate on the tranny. They mostly came in 86/87 GN's, Regals, Monte Carlo's, and Caprice's.

Call Art Carr or The 200-4r Performance Center for serious information. These guys can build them better than GM did, while blindfolded and only using one hand...
There are other companies, but these are two of the best I've heard of.
