Default 4L60E from an S10?

Hey Guys,

Ok. I have a 4L60E from a wrecked car and the rear half of the case is cracked.

I know it cannot be welded,so its pretty much a goner. NOW...I found a deal on a low mileage (10K to be exact) Trans from a 99 S10. Now, will the bellhousing from the bad trans bolt to the case of the good one?

I know there isn't a torque arm mount,but I can get a relocation bracket.

They are the same internally arn't they?

A little input please.

Joe

Oh sorry...

I have a 00 LS1 and 4l60E bolted to it. Car was in a wreck and it snapped the tailshaft off..Well it too part of the case with it when it went.

I would be bolting the S10 trans to the 00 LS1...

the guy said it was either from a 99 or 02 s10...i cannot remember

I figured w/ only 10K miles it would be good..My plans are to eventually build it (down the road)

Or do I go w/ a TH400? (i am building a frankenstein most likley ls1 in a 93-95 f-body)

Well then,.... yessir the transmissions are compatible.

As far as the TH400 comment... hmmmm.

If this is going to be a DD, stick with the A4. If it is going to be a $$$ moaker, Bracket car or Street Driven Race car then I say go with the 400.

If you would like to discuss it further I would be happy to kick around some otions for you.... Just give me a holler tomorrow.

If the s10 is a 4.3 it will not directly bolt to the ls1 engine you would need to change the bell, input shaft and pump stator , Unless the s10 came with and LS1 engine it will not work.
But agreed the 60e is best choice

A transmission builder can you would need some knowledge of what you were doing but it can be done , Also you should switch the servo F bodies came with the corvette servo. now this is based on the s10 being a 2wd
