4L60E Vent Tube
Hey guys,
I was doing a torque arm swap the other day and in removing the old arm I accidentally yanked a rubber hose off the tranny. Since then I have searched around and discovered that this is a vent tube for the tranny in case of overfilling and things like that. My question is, I yanked off the tube and the little check valve as well . Is it necessary to put the valve and hose back on? If so, does anyone have a picture of where it goes because I could not find out where to put the thing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is the breather hose and installed straight and then bent at the factory. The rubber hose is to keep the trans atf from spraying onto the catalytic converter which can reach temps in excess of 1200 degrees F. We have seen a number of cars and trucks at our shop that have caught fire so I would strongly suggest to put the hose on even though you may have removed the converter. Nice pictures quick.
