I was wondering what STR and gear youre running? (please mention the stall speed of your converter) Im also interested in what kind of gas mileage youre getting in the city and on the highway. Im trying to decide on what stall speed and STR for my application. I drive the car everyday in the city and on the highway, so yes...it is my daily driver. (actually my only car
) Anyhow, I want to keep the car streetable which I think the 200R-4 soon to come will play a big factor in keeping it so. I want a converter that is going to perform well on and off the track, as well as on the street. However, I want to keep is streetable. Ive come to conclude that I will be running anywhere from a 3200 to a 3800 with a 2.5 range STR. Im also going to need some advice on that too. Some say 2.5 and then some say 2.6, how much of a difference is it going to make from one to the other? So to sum it up, what stall speed, STR, and gear are you running, how does it perform on the street, on the track, and how streetable is it? Please include what kind of gas mileage you get in the city and on the highway. Thank you so much and any help is much appreciated.

I got a used Midwest 3400 with a 2.5 STR for $250, and I love it. I haven't even improved my launch with it yet (same 60 fts), and efficiency alone has dropped me two tenths and almost two MPH. People are going to say I'm full of ****, but normally I get around 200 miles per tank, I got 230 my first tank after the converter.
Well i dont remember what STR i have but the Vig3600 in my car is great. You really need to get used to the hard kick off the line(lots of traction issues). i get around 20 mpg average tank of driving. I work intown and drive lots of highway, but also don't drive with fuel economy at the front of my mind either(lol). Get a convertor and you will know what i am talking about. Leaving a stop light has never been so much fun. (Cops hate it ) Sounds like your racing (with louder than stock exhaust) but your going the same speed as everyone else. Then get into convertor lock up and it is like stock again.
I found that if feathered i can launch on the street . BUT do not touch that nitrous button (on the street) until at least 30 mph.
I have stock 3.23 gears and have run 11 second time slips with convertor/catback/nitrous all on stock tires.
Sorry such a long response,i hope it helps ya out though.

To Big PD: What was the gas mileage like on the 3500 with the 3.42 gears? (city and highway?) Why are you moving up to a bigger stall speed? How much of a difference is it going to make from a 3500 to a 3800? What STR will you be running on that 3800? Thanks

Im running A VIG3600 W/ the #7 pump (like 4000stall) using a 2.3 STR. Car is great to drive, and great at lights. I have no idea what I get for MPG, the car is just a weekend toy car.
Full weight car, internally stock engine, 3.23 gears, nitto drag radials, TCI 3500. 11.82 at 113MPH It has an STR of about 2.5 I belive. Maybe a little higher.
I get between 280-320 miles to a tank depending on how I drive.

hahahabut i have the vig3600 and the STR is between 2.3 and 2.4 or something

It makes stop lights a hellova lot more fun. As far as MPG. I really dont care, but I didn notice a big difference. Maybe 1-2 lower? Its not gonna effect MPG alot cause the verter locks up over 35mph so its back to normal
