Rev Limiter!!!

I am currently modding my 98 trans am, so far i have:

TCI SSFII 3800 STALL
GM 3.73 gears
SLP LID and bellow
factory exh.manifolds and y, with 3" aftermarket to the back
flowtech headers (not installed)christmas to myself

My car is hitting the rev limiter in 2nd going to 3rd @ WOT, and I'm worried im gonna kill my tranny.
what next?
shift kit? Tune?
Need advise...

You need to allow at least 300 to 500 rpm between command and actual shift in the tuning before the rev limiter, As you add power the rpms increase more rapidly. But the time it takes a shift to occur remains the same,

need a tune to raise the rev limit and get your shift points corrected. On my 98 i was shifting around 6200 stock, after the cam i was shifting around 6600-6800. thing kept pulling

A tune it is then, thanks guys. I'll keep your advice in mind when i go. What about the shift kit? Will that help much and what brand? Transgo??

Shift kit will help by lowering the shift time from comand to actual shift and transgo is and excellent choice Just dont get carried away with shift firmness on a stock trans
