Angry problem with tanny shop

I have a bulton car and a 3200 VIG (only 320hp). My transmission took a crap 2 months ago and I had a local guy rebuild it for me. added all kinds of stuff that was stroger, more clucthes, and a shift kit. It went only one month before the 3-4 clucthes burnt out. Take note that i did not race the car one time during that month. He put a different brand of clutches in there this time and, of course, 3 weeks later the transmission is slipping the 3-4 shift. He says that my torque converter is too big and my gears are too small for the transmission. He is threatening not to repair it again if i dont put gears in it. He says i need 410's.

I dont think he has any clue what the hell he is talking about. My stock transmission lasted over a year with that torque converter with me beating the **** out of it. And now, with a "built" transmission, it doesnt last a month. Is there anything else it could be? maybe it needs to be retuned?

I cant beleive i lost 2 grand.

I doubt very seriously that there is anything wrong with your current combintion. I believe the issue is in the build, if it is done correctly the 3/4 clutches could care less what gear is in it. The camshaft might not like the gears, but the tranny could care less.

I have never heard of such a thing as this guy is telling you. Never.

I agree. How did the trans shift when you first picked it up from the shop? Did it shift firm equally between all gears? It's possible there is something not sealing properly. What kit did the shop use? Did you get new solenoids? Did he check the parameters on a scanner or breakout box? For that kind of money I would check thoroughly before accusing the customers vehicle. Altho, with a 3200 stall I would have made sure you have a good cooler as part of your package.

It should shift firm to all gears though the 1-2 shift will tend to be more agressive however
