Yank sells TH400 converters, and I think most TH400's just bolt up, I have a race built one, that will basically withstand anything...

Pretty fun driving around the street leaving with the T-brake.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I have a lokar dipstick....its like a noodle...

Don't pass up Derek at T.C.S. for a converter either. His prices are better than anyone else, his customer service is better, his warranty is better, and Mikey's car is running 9.70's all motor with his converter. He's a sponsor too.

So all of the TH400 have manuel valve bodies? what are the drawbacks to running this tranny in a daily driven car? and how much should a used tranny go for?

No, you can get an automatic valve body. They're just not very popular. I don't think they are as strong. I have a th400 in my daily driven car with 4.11 gears. I can't drive it over about 55 before I start burning oil. I had 3.42's in before and it was fine up to 70. I even drove it from Maryland to Texas. Again, call Derek at TCS about a converter. He can set you up with whatever stall and STR you like and you won't be disappointed. 800-284-8606

If this TH400 is from a truck with a two piece driveshaft, it may not have a slip yoke on it. It would be an additional expense, but I think a fixed yoke can be converted to a slip yoke. Also, I think there are two tailshaft lengths. You might want to check into this before you buy it.
