Who here is running a TCS converter?
There is more than one place that makes torque converters that goes by the name TCS. The one that is a sponsor on this board is called Transmission Converter Systems - this is the one that Mikey has run a 1.2x 60-foot on.

After checking with all the major convertor companies, except Yank who won't answer their phone or email, I went with TCS. Derek spent a long time on the phone with me going over the technical aspects of the different brands of convertors. After comparing the pluses and minuses of each brand I decided to go with the TCS. I bought because of the technical features but knowing that if I missed the exact setup I need I can send it back for a restall as many times as I like for free was the clincher. I also like knowing that as my setup changes I'm not stuck with a convertor that isn't right for my combination because I can get it restalled as needed. The three year warranty is sure nice to have too.

Exactly!!! If it's you want it to stall higher, pull harder, launch harder, whatever....he'll redo it for free.

Hey did anyone who has one of these notice they weigh 41 pounds .That is 10 more than the vigs and the yanks.

10 Pounds MORE Damm I can see a pound or 2 but that is ridiculous. I hope that this thing is worth it now. Nothing like adding power or performance, and then negating that with adding weight. Oh well. We'll have to see.

Jeremy you got the Super Pro right? Thats the heavy duty one that can handle N20. The Yank PY/E nitrous converters are 34 lbs according to Yank. So its a 7lb difference.
I just weighed my stock converter (its about half full of oil) and it weighs 53.5 lbs. My TCI3000 weighed around 37 lbs from what i can remeber.
Is the TCS Super Pro strong enough to be able to lock it up at the end of 3rd gear in the 1/4? If it is, that should more than make up for the weight of it. For the lock up to be stronger it has to be heavier.

I got my TCS 4400 converter installed. I went out to test it today. I had my stock 16 " GSc`s on the back and there is n0 traction 1st - 2nd. The converter drives Nice around town. Not much of a difference at part throttle over the vig 3200 I just took out(which is very nice).I was affraid the converter would be way too loose with my 3.23 rear. I do notice a difference when i go more than 1/2 throttle. Since I have the street tires on the car i couldnt really do any foot stalls.
Shift Extention = 5600
Flash stall = about 4500
Foot stall = not sure
Price = 729 shipped
Is my car faster ? No Idea yet I wont be able to tell until I Get some slicks on the car and get to the track. Plus My computer reset when the battery was disconected. so it has to relearn.
More to follow but so far I am very happy.
If you have any questions feel free to msg me .
