What transmission came behind the 3800 v6 camaros/firebirds from 98-02?

4L60E I believe is the designation.

Is the bell housing bolt pattern the same for a ls1???

No the bell is different the input shaft is different and the pump stator is different

Isnt it amazing GM thought the ls1 would need the same shitty trans in the stupid v6..


Stupid GM needed to put a 4l80e in the ls1

4l60E can hold there own..... even a trans brake if the right person biulds it

Here in Aus we are following closely what you guys are doing. Our vehicles are alot heavier and different config but the engine is virtually the same. I read about some guy with a buick twin turbo V6 running in the low 7 second bracket in the states years ago. That is inspiring.
