Owners of A4 with 3.73's need to know
rpm = (mph * Axle ratio * Transmission ratio * 12 * 5280) / (3.14159 * Tire diameter * 60)
Your axle ratio would be 3.73 and I believe 4th gear in an auto would be 0.74...that might be fifth in a manual, I forget. Either way, that's the equation.

Top gear ratios on a few trannies:
4L60E - 0.70
T-56 - 0.50
200-4R - 0.67
TH350/400 - 1.00 (no OD)
Powerglide - 1.00 (no OD)
Makes a huge difference in highway RPMs. My car, with the 200-4R and 3.73s, is about 2300 RPM. Pretty livable with the converter locked.

Umm... Cant drive the car right now, no motor & snow, well you know about that..
From memory, I am at 2400 @ 70 mph. Get back with me in the summer and I'll check again. I'm sure it's going to depend on what convertor you have. I have the Vig 3600 right now.
What convertor do you have right now?

My A4 with 3:73's run 2300 RPM's at 70 MPH. I checked mine yesterday because I am having 4:10's installed I am verifying the increase in RPM's with these gears. I hope these new gears help some at the track.
