You'll need new EPC, and shift solenoid screens. Does the s kit come with VB gaskets?

Billet accumulators would help since you will have it all apart anyways.

Just drill out the stock one. And get aluminum housing for the 1-2 accumulator.

Wow.
You don't need a new EPC and you can clean your shift solenoid screens, and yes the kit comes with gaskets.

Billet accumulators--never heard of them. Servos yes but not on a stock band.

The 1-2 accumulator always has an aluminum housing. The pistons are sometimes plastic, and that goes for the 1-2, fourth, and forward.

Should you get the plate? depends on what yours looks like and how reliable you want it to be. Get it from here if you decide to http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/...kit_s/5564.htm

Yes but there a big difference between servos and accumulators.

Servos apply bands, accumulators cushion shifts.

Barking second can be done just by blocking the 1-2 accumulator, take the pan off and the three accumulator housing bolts.

But to do it right take your time and put the kit in, it comes with three thick washers to stiffen the 1-2 accumulator, start with one, if you want it to bark harder add more.

You can also drill the second feed bigger but that sometimes has a bad effect on shift timing.
I think you'll be happy with the kit installed as the instructions suggest.

I suggested an EPC screen and a shift solenoid screen if he was replacing the separator plate. They rarely come out of the old plate in one piece.

I just finished installing my shift kit last night - I got a new seperator plate because I figured for less than $20 it was cheap insurance. Also had to get the smaller screen since one of the tabs on mine broke while taking it off and an aluminum accumulator piston for the 2nd accumulator since mine had a plastic one. Total spent on those two items was <$4. Didn't use the clutch springs, but was able to do the servo shim and spring with tranny still in car. Used 1 shim in servo - two made it too tight on the band - 1 spacer in accumulator and drilled the 1-2 hole using the smaller bit and the rest using the larger bit supplied in the kit. At light throttle, the 1-2 shift is firm, but not harsh. When you open it up it definitely "barks second."

You're right, the older they get the more brittle they are. And come to think of it I had a broken up gasket and rubber kit the last time I did one. I probably robbed those out of that kit as well.
